Statistics are Human Beings with the Tears Wiped Away! (Paul Brodeur)

My name is Fatemeh Ghaderinezhad and it is more than a decade I am hanging out in the unlimited world of Statistics. After getting my Bachelor and my Master in Statistics, I found that it does not quench my thirst in absorbing new knowledge. Combining my ambition to explore the world with my eagerness to learn more, I continued my Ph.D. at Ghent University, Belgium.

There are lots of questions in this universe that nobody has any answer for. However, when you become a statistician with an analytical mind, you never say “I do not know!”, you always say “Let’s explore!” and I would admit that this is the most fascinating aspect of my field of study for a curious person like me.

This attitude helped me to do a successful Ph.D. on measuring the impact of prior knowledge on the final inference in the Bayesian approach. This is a crucial step in the Bayesian analysis and it is therefore important to have a convenient way to quantify this impact, as such a measure of prior impact will help us to choose between two or more priors in a given situation. I tackled this problem from both theoretical and practical aspects and I presented a new methodology in analyzing data in the Bayesian studies.

I still believe that there is a lot I should learn, as Socrates said “I know that I know nothing” and this is the motivation that keeps me always in a learning mood. My aim to establish this website is to share what I have learned (and I will) about “Statistical concepts” and “data analysis methods” which are two of the greatest passions in my career. Are you curious to learn and explore too? If yes, that’s awesome! Pleased to meet you!
